Sponsor a Puja
The Board of Mipham Shedra has been looking at implementing new programs to provide for the ongoing expenses of the Temple. One such method will take the form of sponsorship for feast days. In Tibetan culture, feast days are celebrated with greater importance than are birthdays and they carry the added benefit of great auspiciousness for all participants. The feast day is called Ganachakra, which literally means "singing mandala". Ganachakra is actuallly a celebration with the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Dakas and Dakinis. Normally our holiday celebrations with families are mingled with thoughts of Samsara. In contrast, the Ganachakra is a celebration of enlightenment and is a merging of our minds with the deities.If you are able, we suggest sponsoring an entire month, which would include Guru Rinpoche's Day, Dakini's Day and a Green Tara Puja. A donation of $1700 on an annual basis would be appropriate. This offering is based on the monthly expenses of supporting our temple.
Any offering, will be gratefully received and is vital. If you choose to sponsor an individual feast, may we suggest $700 for either Guru Rinpoche's Day or Dakini's Day, and $500 for Green Tara Puja.
Please consider sponsoring a month or particular feast day to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, a special good fortune or honor the passing away of family or friends. Sponsoring these practices improve your meditation practice, health, business and family affairs. Whatever your main wish may be in this regard, please let us know.
